14 restaurant and food vendors, stuff for the kids, great music and fabulous weather made for perfection at the Inaugural Taste of Arlington event. The drinks probably helped a little too! 😀 Congratulations to “Arlington Has It!” for putting on a wonderful event. We are looking forward to more fun stuff from this group and can’t wait to see what year two brings to “A Taste of Arlington“.
BC Kitchen presented the most creative sample of the day with their Deconstructed Chicken Gyro. A chicken meatball with cucumber and tomato along side a toasted pita chip in a their own take on a Tzatziki sauce with a twist.
Even the kids all had a great time. The bouncy house and the ballon animals were a real hit with everyone. Here’s one little festival queen getting an elephant.
Juan Murphy’s took the prize for best presentation with their house-made chips and salsa accompanied with a really super tasty Elote, a Mexican street food of corn-on-the-cob coated with cheese and spices. Who would have thought that a such great Mexican fare would come from an Irish pub?
My absolute favorite of the day, and everyone else’s too, which I neglected to get a picture of because I spent so much time talking to Chef Lee my daughter came looking for me to make sure I didn’t get lost! They presented a Shrimp and Baby Red Potato appetizer that was simply to DIE for! I snuck at least tree or four of those fabulous little plates. Best offering of the day goes to Twisted Soul. At the time I was writing this their website was being upgraded and unavailable, but you can connect with them on Facebook.
Be sure to visit these, and all the rest of the local eateries in the Arlington, Poughkeepsie, NY area. I promise you will be pleasantly surprised at the food diversity and excellence you’ll find.
